CHARLESTON STROLL | LEVEL: 2+ | choreography by Sing Yuen Lim (Singapore)

Welcome to Episode #18 featuring The Charleston Stroll line dance. The Charleston Stroll was originally choreographed by world renowned Lindy Hopper Sing Lim at the height of the swing resurgence in America.
The choreography is arranged to match the song “Put a Lid on it” by The Squirrel Nut Zippers. This line dance is a 16 bar (4 phrase) stroll that turns ¼ to the left after the patterns have been completed. It combines classic Charleston steps that is a throw back to the roaring 20s.

Please note: the music used in this episode was necessary for  music rights reasons. Although it is not the song originally chosen by the choreographer, it is very fitting for the theme of this line dance.
