TITLE: CHARLESTON STROLL
LEVEL: 2+
Choreographed by Sing Yuen Lim (Singapore)

The Charleston Stroll was originally choreographed by world renowned Lindy Hopper Sing Lim at the height of the swing resurgence in America. In her own words “I did it as a Charleston Class for Erin’s Swing Camp Catalina in 1998 or 99. I wanted to do something that the class could perform at the Sunday night barbeque”

The choreography is made to match the song “Put a Lid on it” by The Squirrel Nut Zippers. This line dance is a 16 bar (4 phrase) stroll that turns ¼ to the left after the patterns have been completed. It combines classic Charleston steps in a unique and playful manner that is a throw back to the roaring 20s.
